Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil

Would you use an essential oil that comes from something called “the mountain pepper”? Sounds dangerously spicy, doesn’t it? Well, as deceiving as the name may be, the mountain “pepper” isn’t actually a pepper. It’s another name for the Litsea Cubeba tree. This tree goes by quite a few names actually, such as Chinese Pepper and May Chang. Regardless of what you call it, it’s the same tree that sprouts beautiful yellowish-white flowers and gives off a characteristic, citrus-like aroma. It’s native to south China, Indonesia, Java, Sumatra and other regions of Southeast Asia. Perhaps the best thing about this tree is the oil it provides: litsea cubeba essential oil. This oil is incredible. It can do so much for your health including treating nausea and headache, preventing acne, relieving allergies, improving bronchitis, normalizing arrhythmias, regulating blood pressure, reducing muscle and back pain, helping with indigestion, combating athlete’s foot, treating fatigue, and so much more!

Preventing infections

Litsea cubeba essential oil has powerful antimicrobial properties. It has the ability to effectively fight all kinds of viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and fungi. These properties are especially useful against common causes of cold and flu, making litsea cubeba essential oil a strong cure for them. Having antifungal properties is important when it comes to certain conditions like athlete’s foot and toenail infections. Litsea cubeba essential oil is a great solution for both. Athlete’s foot can be especially troublesome because of several things. For one, it can be very painful, itchy and annoying. Another problem is that it’s extremely contagious. All it takes for you to catch the infection is simply walking on contaminated floor that contains some of the causative agent. As for toenail infections, they can cause your nails to dry up and begin to crack, which can be quite painful. It’s a good thing litsea cubeba essential oil can both treat and prevent these fungal infections. To get rid of athlete’s foot, ringworms, and most fungal infections, add 5 or 6 drops of litsea cubeba essential oil to carrier oil or some foot lotion and massage it to the area that is bothering you. If you’re feeling lazy, you can add a few drops of litsea cubeba essential oil to a foot soak and simply sit there while it kills away your infectious problem.

Asthma

Litsea cubeba essential oil is great for people who suffer from asthma. Asthma is a frustrating respiratory tract condition that is quite common. Asthmatic people suffer from asthma attacks when they are exposed to certain substances that trigger an allergic reaction in their body. Even the smallest things like pollen grains or dust can be enough to cause your body to react negatively and your lungs to become inflamed. After the allergic reaction begins, your bronchi start to spasm and contract. That makes it even harder for air to pass through your bronchi and into your lungs. That’s why asthmatic people often feel like they are suffocating; simply because they aren’t getting enough air. So what can litsea cubeba essential oil do for your asthma? Well, first of all, the problem started with an allergic reaction, right? On the most fundamental level, allergic reactions are basically an inflammatory reaction. Well, guess what? Litsea cubeba essential oil has powerful anti-inflammatory substances that can help quell the inflammation and prevent your asthma attack right from the beginning. It doesn’t stop there. Litsea cubeba essential oil also has the ability to relive the spasm that is happening in your bronchi, allowing them to return back to normal. Wider, more relaxed bronchi will allow more air and oxygen to pass through, ridding you of that unpleasant feeling of suffocation. If you look at all of these benefits, you’ll see that litsea cubeba essential oil is one of the best oils out there when it comes to your respiratory health.

It soothes your skin, washing away all the inflammation, and putting an end to any flare-ups you might be experiencing.
