Aquafina Lip Oil

Have you ever heard of Aquafina lip oil? Well, you’ve probably heard of Aquafina bottled water before, but maybe not the oil. Originally founded in 1994 by PepsiCo, Aquafina is considered one of the most famous brands of purified bottled water in the world. It puts its water through vigorous purification processes including reverse osmosis and ultraviolet and ozone sterilization. In 2009, Aquafina alone represented about 13.4 percent of domestic bottled water sales in the United States. Thanks to its huge sales, great taste and high quality standards, Aquafina was considered the number one bottled water brand as measured by retail sales. This is a company that knows what it’s doing, so it was only natural that when they made another product called Aquafina lip oil, it became an instant success. If they were good enough to be trusted with our water, the essence of life, something that goes inside our bodies on a daily basis, then any other product they make is bound to be of the same quality. So why is Aquafina lip oil such a hit? Let’s find out.

People consider Aquafina lip oil one of the best hydrating products out there that also gives your lips an added shine. But what exactly does that mean? How does oil “hydrate”? Aren’t oils and water opposites? Well, it’s a common misconception that “hydrating” oils add water to the lips. What they actually do is retain the moisture inside your lips and prevent it from evaporating. In other words, it doesn’t “add” water; it keeps the pre-existing water in, which is much more effective. Okay, so it keeps our lips hydrated. What’s the big deal? Is that really necessary? We use our lips in everything from eating, drinking, speaking to even showing affection, but we still don’t appreciate their true nature. There are millions of hair, nail and skin care products out there but when it comes to lip products, there aren’t that many. They’re neglected. If only people knew the truth.

The skin on your lips is much thinner than the rest of your face and most other areas of your body. In fact, it has only three to five layers of cells compared to 16 layers on the rest of your face.  So it’s only natural that they become dry, chapped, old and pinched. They start to crack and bleed, and the cold winter air, of course, makes things worse. Let’s face it. Cracked, bleeding lips aren’t attractive anywhere in the world. Not only that, but it makes your lips much more susceptible to infections. They can easily go from cracked to full of pimples and even start to accumulate pus. They’re just too vulnerable. That’s why you need Aquafina lip oil.

Aquafina lip oil is made up of several components. The main ones are: vitamin E, jojoba oil and almond oil. These three components alone are enough to make Aquafina lip oil as unique as it is. Let’s start with jojoba oil (pronounced ho-ho-ba). It’s extracted from the Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) plant, which is a small shrub that grows in southern Arizona, southern California and northwestern Mexico. The history of this oil goes way back, all the way to the Native Americans who used to apply jojoba oil to sores and bruises. Today, scientists have found many more uses for it such as treating acne, psoriasis, sunburn and chapped skin. It can even help with balding since it stimulates hair growth and unclogs hair follicles. Some makeup artists actually use jojoba oil as a makeup remover and it’s completely safe. Even for your eyes? Yes, even your eyes! It’s hypoallergenic and it’s even safer than chemical makeup removers since it comes from a natural, purified source. It simply removes the makeup along with dirt, bacteria or any unwanted particles.

So how does jojoba oil work for your lips? Well, since Aquafina lip oil helps treat chapped lips, there has to be a component in jojoba oil that promotes wound healing, right? That component is vitamin B complex. There are several types of B vitamins, from 1 all the way to 12, and they’re all powerful antioxidants and hormone-balancers along with countless other benefits. The one that really matters, however, is vitamin B5 (also known as pantothenic acid). Vitamin B5 helps our bodies build protein, which is the building block of all cellular structures. If you want a wound, a cut, a bruise or even chapped skin to heal, you need protein. And you need to make sure your body is able to synthsize protein efficiently. That’s why vitamin B5 is so important. It promotes cell division and protein synthesis, essentially accelerating the healing process altogether. It’s so powerful that it’s even used to treat skin wounds caused by radiation therapy! Of course, chapped lips are much simpler than skin wounds but that just shows how effective Aquafina lip oil is.

The second component of jojoba oil is vitamin E. Aquafina lip oil didn’t only rely on the vitamin E in jojoba oil, but it also added its own, pure, extracted form of the vitamin. So obviously, vitamin E is important. Why? Well, for starters, it’s a very powerful antioxidant. You probably hear that word a lot, right? People always want foods or supplements that contain antioxidants. And those foods and supplements are usually expensive, too! That’s because of the wonders antioxidants can do. On the cellular level, they get rid of something called “free oxygen radicals”. These free radicals are produced naturally in our bodies as a byproduct of many functions. The problem is, when you’re exposed to certain stress or stimuli like cold weather, excessive sunlight, infections or pretty much anything, too many free radicals are formed. They can give you wrinkles, stretch marks, dark spots, uneven skin tone and even make your skin look years older than it really is. That’s why the antioxidants in Aquafina lip oil are so important. They literally slow down your lips’ ageing process.

Another reason Aquafina lip oil added so much vitamin E is because it has natural anti-inflammatory properties. By quelling inflammation, it helps strengthen your capillaries, keeping them strong, firm and intact. It also improves the moisture content, elasticity and suppleness of your lips. Overall, vitamin E is a major contributor to Aquafina lip oil’s anti-ageing, revitalizing properties.

The third and final component of Aquafina lip oil is almond oil. Who doesn’t love almonds? We’ve got almond butter, almond milk and almond ice cream, so it was only a matter of time before someone discovered a use for its oil. If you were to google just the words “almond” and “lips” you’ll find hundred of results on how to lighten dark lips naturally and how to get naturally pink lips. It’s true. Almond oil can do that for you. It’s one of the best moisturizing emollients you can find from a natural source. And it doesn’t get more natural than almonds. It helps rejuvenate dead cells and deeply hydrate your lips on the cellular level. This not only helps heal your chapped, dry lips, but it can also prevent your lips from getting injured in the first place. It’s also rich in antioxidants which help get rid of wrinkles and cracked lines on your lips, instantly giving them a shiny, healthy luster. No more of that dull, unflattering appearance.  Aquafina definitely chose the right components for their lip oil.

Winter’s coming and your lips are going to be vulnerable. Well, winter’s already here but you get the reference. Don’t wait for your lips to get cracked, chapped or start bleeding. They’re just as important as you skin, hair and nails. But don’t take my word for it. Here’s what the experts say:

“The danger of not taking care of your lips is that they can become dry, dehydrated, and cracked, which is just painful. Chronic dehydration makes fine lines appear around the vermillion border,” says Pearl Dworkin, an esthetician and nutritionist.

“As a makeup artist, one of the things that you pray for when you show up to meet a client is that her lips are smooth, hydrated and healthy. There’s one thing that you can’t fake, and that’s hydrated, healthy looking lips,” says celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal, creator of Mally Beauty.

“When lips get dry and damaged, they’re no longer protected from negative environmental factors. So first, it’s important to restore the skin damage, then it’s important to occlude the ingredients so your lips don’t dry out instead of just being restored,” says dermatologist Dr. Rick Mizuguchi of NYC.

And that’s exactly what Aquafina lip oil does. It has healing properties and it traps all the moisture in, keeping your lips hydrated. Yes, Aquafina has you covered, so no excuses. Aquafina lip oil even comes in a small tube that fits in your bag, pockets or practically anywhere. It’s just 5ml and it’ll last for a very long time because you only need to apply a thin layer to your lips for it to work its magic. So try it out. Your lips will practically kiss themselves once they feel the difference.
